The theme of the story is supposed to reflect on Empath's fear of solitude in two different ways -- his fear of sleeping alone in a house of his own, and his fear of being disconnected from the link of the Psyches.
The nightmare and hallucination Empath has of being pursued by the Psychelian Guard Elite is supposed to be similar to those of Seven of Nine being pursued by the Borg in Star Trek: Voyager.
Player's comment "blue boys can still jump" is a play on the movie title White Men Can't Jump. It may also be a reference to the Smurfs' innate ability to make incredible leaps in the comic book stories.
Probably the first story in which Dreamy has a role in which he sees things happening in another person's dreams.
Morphio is the dream villain who appeared in the cartoon episodes "Lazy's Nightmare" and "Sleepless Smurfs".
